Apply & Register

Families complete four main steps before a student is officially enrolled at Strive Charter School.

Submit an Application

Complete your child's application through our SchoolMint enrollment portal.

Enrollment Lottery

Once the application is submitted, your child will be entered into our enrollment lottery.

Accept Your Offer

If your child receives an offer, sign in to SchoolMint and accept the available seat.

Complete Registration

Submit all required information and documents so your child's enrollment can be reviewed and approved.

Follow these steps to complete your child's registration in SchoolMint.

Sign In

Sign in to your existing Strive SchoolMint account.

Select Your Child

Open your child's profile from your SchoolMint dashboard.

Accept the Offer

Select the option to accept your child's lottery offer.

Click Register

Begin the registration process from your child's profile.

Complete All Sections

Enter the required information and upload all requested documents.

Submit Registration

Review your information and submit the completed registration.

After registration is submitted, our admissions team will review the information. Your child is officially enrolled once the registration has been processed and approved.

Required Before School Begins

Family Orientation

Every family must attend one orientation session before their child begins school. During orientation, families will meet our teachers and leadership team, learn about the school year, ask questions, and help their child feel ready for Day One.

Founding Families Week

A special week designed to help our Founding Families connect with the Strive community and prepare for the school year.

  • Meet with your child's teacher in person, by phone, or on Zoom.
  • Attend curriculum spotlight events and experience learning at Strive.
  • Explore our enrichment programs and meet members of our staff.
  • Ask questions and prepare your family for the school year.

Children must attend Founding Families Week activities with an adult.

Strive Launch Party

We will wrap up Founding Families Week with a community celebration for current and incoming Strive families.

Experience Strive Before Day One

Strive Preview Week

Preview Week gives students the opportunity to experience a full school day, meet classmates, practice daily routines, explore before- and after-school programming, and try sample lessons and enrichment activities.

Who can participate?

Fully Registered

Students must have completed registration before participating in Preview Week.

Family Orientation Completed

The family must attend one required Family Orientation session before the student participates.

Transportation No bus service
Drop-Off 7:00–9:00 a.m.
Required Arrival By 9:00 a.m.
Pickup Window 4:30–7:00 p.m.

Families are responsible for drop-off and pickup during Preview Week. Students are expected to remain at school until 4:30 p.m. Early pickup should only occur in an emergency.

Getting to Strive

Free Transportation for Eligible Students

Free weekday bus transportation begins on Tuesday, September 8, the first day of school.

Transportation Eligibility

To qualify for free busing, students must live in the Bronx and reside more than 0.5 miles walking distance from Strive Charter School.

Strive Students Only

Buses will exclusively serve students attending Strive Charter School.

Support on Every Bus

A Strive Teaching Assistant will ride on every school bus.

Neighborhood Hubs

Routes will use convenient neighborhood pickup and drop-off locations rather than individual home addresses.

Uniform Support
$150

Uniform Voucher for Registered Families

Families who complete registration will receive a $150 French Toast voucher to purchase approximately one week of Strive uniforms.

2026–2027 School Year

School Calendar & Daily Schedule

Strive combines a required Monday-through-Friday school day with optional before-school, after-school, weekend, summer, and additional programming days.

Official First Day of School Tuesday, September 8, 2026
7:00–9:00 a.m.

Optional Before School

Students can arrive early, eat breakfast, read, play, and prepare for the school day.

9:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Required School Day

The required school program runs Monday through Friday from September through June.

4:30–7:00 p.m.

Optional After School

Students can stay for enrichment, reading, activities, play, and dinner.

7 a.m.–7 p.m.

Optional Weekends & Summer

Optional programming provides academic support, enrichment, play, and engaging learning experiences without introducing new required academic instruction.

The school calendar, including required school days, closures, and optional programming days, is finalized and is not expected to change. Family events and school activities will continue to be added, and some event dates may be adjusted as opportunities arise. Families will receive updates as early as possible.

Beginning September 8, transportation, before-school, after-school, and regular school-day programming will be fully operational.
